Hi all, I don't know if such a beast exists or is even possible. I have a Kenwood TS2000 and would like to be able to sit on the other side of the room (about 15 ft) and use the rig. Is there such a thing as a microphone extension cable? I use the Kenwood microphone that has the four PF buttons on the front.
thanks
Frank

The CAT 5 RJ45 wiring scheme will put noise in the mic circuit from the clock that is also in the cable.

A known problem on Kenwood V 71 and D 710 radios.

You can build a cable that will have better isolation by using the pairs in cat 5 cable in the correct sequence.

Thanks guys but the TS2000 doesn't use a RJ45, it uses the round threaded connector with pinds inside.

OK, I decided to order one from Ebay as opposed to making one. I'll report back if it works.

Frank,
Your mic is it the M60-A or the stock one that came with the radio? I think I found the one you ordered its 6 feet long?

EBay to the rescue again. I put two of those six foot cables together and it works fine.
