• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I'm glad that you're able to get your money back...

My G5 & G3 are both very twitchy when it comes to BT, too. Both connect to my 2015 Subaru and my 2021 Tacoma, but neither will produce sound in any of my vehicles--go figure. Both pagers list the BT version as 2.0--but that's quite an old protocol. I think we're up to v.5.0, now. Probably some backward-compatibility thing.

Still, the Unication pagers are some of the best pieces of monitoring kit I've ever owned, and the company did work quite hard to get scanner users' business. Sorry this speaker didn't work out for you.

I was hoping to get it to connect to the Ford Transit we use at work. Luckily I have an extra ANKER bluetooth speaker that works OK with the G5. It was not being used and I didn't know we had it. But all is well.

I agree with this 100%. On the simulcast systems I monitor day to day, I've never had anything better. It frankly keeps up with the subscriber radios we have checked it against with the exception of those have a little more audio output than the Unications in most cases.

Well I would like to thank both of you. I’ve been trying to find a Bluetooth speaker that would pair with my G4s. Both the Anker and the Oontz pair with them. I already had the older Oontz Angle 3 Shower model. One G4 would not pair with that one and the other two would pair but not pass any audio. All three G4s pop when there’s a transmission from dead air. The Oontz speakers do not pop when used with my Uniden SDS200s or 996T.

Never had any popping with either the G4 or G5.

Would connect to both my former car a Elontra 2019 or new car Elontra 2024, but won't pass audio in either one. Guess the older version of Bluetooth can't pass audio on newer systems in the Hyundais.

It pairs and works in the work truck a International MV 2024 straight truck, but mostly don't use it connected via Bluetooth. Think the radio in it is Panasonic.

Linked below is speaker I use with it and pairs and works well.
