Hi everyone,
I'm not a radio operator "yet", but I am looking for cable recommendations. This looks like the place to ask
I'm currently using a 2.4Ghz parabolic grid antenna to pull in a 1.9GHhz Sprint 4G LTE signal from a tower 5 miles away. I have a hill and some trees in my LOS, and I'm going to move the antenna from my roof to a location about halfway up the hill. I'm going to put up a 30ft tower at that spot which should clear everything.
My cable length is going to be 125' which is a decently long run at that frequency. My initial thought was to look for some Andrew LDF4-50A terminated with N-Male connectors. One place I contacted suggested I go with Draka RFA1/2-50 instead. The stuff is made in Finland and certified by Verizon for their 4G buildout.
The run with connectors and shipping is being quoted at about $275.
Spec Sheet : radio.passus.pl/files/RFA_1_2.pdf
Does that seem reasonable? Keep looking for Andrew LDF4-50A or even LMR-600?
Suggestions are appreciated.
