I purchased this on eBay from a charity shop.

Whilst practically brand new, it has a problem with the squelch.

It doesn't matter how high you set it, the squelch fails to operate.

Tried a factory reset but still the same.

Any ideas anyone.

Elaborate on "fails to operate". Are you hearing more distant stations or static despite setting squelch higher or something else?

Are you not hearing anything or is the squelch stuck and all you hear is the hiss sound?
