• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have 2 revision 1.1 F43GS transceivers that I was able to clone/program just last month with my CS-F33G revision 2.2 software and OPC478 cable.
I added a couple of frequency channels and started cloning the new configuration to my 5 transceivers. The 3 revision 2.x transceivers took it without issue. But when I went to clone the 2 revision 1.1's I got the "Illegal data. Check the following: - The COM port settings, - Cloning cable connections, -Transceiver power is ON." message.
I checked all of that, tried "Normal Speed" vs "High Speed". Tried a different computer, different OPC478 cable, etc... and still not able to get it to clone.
Using the same cable, computer, etc and running CS-F33G ADJ I can communicate to the transceivers, so I believe the comm port and cable are fine.
I tried to use another system with CS-F33G revision 1.x software and get the same result. I also tried to clone the original configuration that came with them, and still the same outcome.

Of course now they boot up to "CLONE NG". Does anyone have any suggestions or the magic combination to resolve my issue?

Thanks.

UPDATE!!!! THEY LIVE!!! Using the same OPC478 cable and CS-F33G ADJ Rev2.0 software. I did a connect and pulled the "config" off of the transceiver (it only had 40 channels). Then I changed the SQL level up 1 digit. Then I did the sweep the BPF ALL and RSSI [ENTER] to Start. Then I opened up the CS-F33G revision 2.2 software, and loaded the configuration that I know last worked, and told it to Write -> TR. It worked, so I loaded up the configuration that gave me the original issue, and it to cloned right up. Was able to repeat the exact same procedure with the other radio and as I said THEY LIVE!!!
