• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

My girlfriends father was killed in a plane crash yesterday and the FAA did an investigation into it. The plane has already been removed from the site, so I am assuming the FAA has completed their investigation. Does anyone know how I could go about getting a copy of their investigation report?

Thanks,
Dustin

Thanks, I looked on there and it is listed on the Jul 3rd text file (http://www.faa.gov/data_statistics/accident_incident/preliminary_data/media/B_0703_N.txt) -- search for: West Monroe

There isn't much information in it besides the obvious. The officer at the perimeter let me inside the perimeter to walk around and I was able to gather more information from looking around (parachute deployed, cause of death, direction of travel, etc). I was mainly looking for some reason as to why the crash happened. It was pretty far from his house, so its not like he crashed as soon as he took off. Something weird must have happened.

Anyways thanks for that link. Do they update that every once in a while?

Air crashes are investigated by the NTSB. Reports usually come out several months after the crash.
