Lightbeam (started using this yesterday)
Print without Ads (about 8 months)
Regardless of what ad/flash/java blockers you use, you're only preventing facecrook from inundating you with visible ads.
If you're logged in to facecrook, and simultaneously surfing other sites ... sites which have the facecrook code in them (their ubiquitous icon is everywhere, and usually on the page somewhere), then facecrook knows you've been there. It's not so much about them flashing ads at you as much as it is about them tracking your activities on the web.
And no, you don't have to hit the little blue facecrook 'like' button on other websites in order for them to know you've been on that site. A lil bit of clever cross-site scripting takes care of that unless you have an efficacious plugin/app to stop it dead in its tracks.
I HIGHLY suggest, in addition to AdBlock Plus, that everyone use a FireFox plugin called NoScript. Like all truly effective things, there's a slight learning curve, but It will kill more malicious ads, unauthorized flash and java scripting than anything out there.
