Factory rubber duck

Does anyone actually use the factory rubber duck antennas that came when you bought your scanner?
What rabges if any would they best be suited for?

Stock antennas are the best overall antenna to use across all bands that a scanner can receive when using it hand-held. If you are ony listening to 800 MHz, then perhaps an antenna designed primarily for that band is better. But as someone else already said, it really depends on what you are listening to and what bands they are in. Certainly I use an outdoor antenna at home and when in my truck.
