On Thursday, June 12th at 19:55 hours Fair Lawn communications recieved a call on a reported bus fire adjacent to the ShopRite on River Road (17-17 River Rd.) Deputy Chief Carney (976) arrived and established command reported (2) fully involved full sized coach buses. Engine 3 was instructed to hit a hydrant and drop 5" supply line down river road to the fire and hook into Engine 1. Quint 2 was the first arriving unit stretching 1" 3/4 attack handlines. Fire was placed under control in under 30 minutes after all fire was extinguished. Full First Alarm units were put to work (Quint 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Truck 1, Rescue 1&2, and TAC 9 as the Field Comm operations unit. No mutual Aid was requested because Engine 5 (Company 3's second piece) and Engine 4 were not comitted in fire duty and were available for any other runs in the borough. Fire is currently under investigation by the Fair Lawn Fire Prevention Bureau.
