Jacob, I'am located here in the anchorage alaska area. If i'm not mistaken, alot of interesting analog stuff in fairbanks was abandoned and now on the statewide ALMR TRS. Now since their Police, Military, and others migrated too the ALMR system it's not the same as the ole days. You might find some business stuff and other misc stuff within their analog systems. But it might be your best intrest, too bring along a digital p-25 capable scanner for your scanning needs in that area. Here in Anchorage AK theirs alot of p-25 digital and analog frequencies. Our public safety ops such as City police, City fire, and others misc businesses are on the analog UHF, VHF, and the 855-866mhz bands. But our Military, State Police, Federal Agencies, will mostly be on the Statewide ALMR TRS. Check out the AK fairbanks data base here for futher details. And you might find want you need. Have fun and enjoy the great state of alaska.

Like was said most of the Fairbanks area is on ALMR.

Airport,UAF and Fairbanks Fire are not on ALMR so you can pice them up with no trouble.

All law enforement is on ALMR ( Fairbanks PD and AST )

The other FD that switched to ALMR you can here their dispatch on the old freq but you will not be able to hear anything else just dispatch tone out.

I live in FAirbanks so if you need any help let me know.

Akscanman, thinks I just landed yesterday and getting ready to get to work, so that leaves the nights to monitor. I quess I need to break down and get me a digital scanner with all the traveling that I do. Any local freqs worth monitors beside the ones you mentioned?

I am coming to a close on my trip to Alaska (Fairbanks) and I can truly say that this has been my must enjoyable trip of all. The people, and Alaska (Fairbanks) are incredable. I would move up here but I do not think I could get used to the -40 temps in the dead of winter, my southern blood is to thin. 73's and thanks for all the help.
