:D Wow, what a differents a day makes!

The Fairfax County Beacon Hill tower is apparently operational and the voice communication is as clear as a bell. Last night, I monitored an engineer who reported clear reception from the Camp Springs area of PG Country! Anyone in SE DC or PG Country who has given up monitoring the FFX system should give it another try.

Yeah, i'm picking it up at a 95% - 99% decode rate [as indicated on a Pro 96] from Adams Morgan in NW DC - a significant improvement.

I know the tower was real close to being operational anyday. But working the night shift I do't always get the see the radio guy and get all the scoop. But we have been told nothing official. I imagine something will come out this week. But I know it has to be up and operational by next week becuase the Beacon Hill tower is a joint project site with the other 800mhz system that will be going online next week for school buses.

This was one of 3 additional towers for our Public Safety system. The Centreville site was operational in June. Tysons is the last of the 3 and will be several more weeks at least before it's up.
