Fairfax County, VA police and EMS/Fire feeds

Police feed has been down since "derecho" event. Any word on when or if it will be restored, or alternative sources?
EMS/Fire feed is still on, but quality of the feed has been very poor. Most traffic not being picked up. Wondering if county-wide repeater system may have been damaged by the storm. Anyone heard?

Recommend that you take a look at several recent threads discussing Fairfax County in the VA forum. In addition to the derecho and the PD feed being down, Fairfax County is switching to a new system which has been difficult for scanners to pick up.

Thanks, Mike. Glad I waited to buy a PSR-800, which I nearly did last weekend. Guess I'll wait to see how the Fairfax County feeds shake out before deciding whether to make the purchase. It would be a drag to spend $400 and then not be able to listen to my own county's services.
