Fairfax Public Safety from Arlington

I'm located in arlington, va (ballston area) with a PSR800 and RS 800mhz antenna. I can receive parts of the Fairfax Public Safety system, but its not very clear. What kind of antenna do i need to be able to hear them better? Thanks!!!

You might try an 800 MHz yagi aimed at one of the sites, but that might give you too much signal. Those simulcast P25 systems are a pain; you might not be able to do much to improve your situation.

Location, location, location, even in your house. Try the RS 20-006 (metal telescoping antenna) which is what I use in Alexandria and experiment with the antenna height and different locations in your home. I find that even a couple of feet can make a difference.
