Did anyone catch the entire discussion about problems with transmit power levels at a tower site today?

I just happened to catch the tail end of some radio system techs?? working on an output power problem at a site. I had my PRO-96 just back from CPU upgrade and did not have the "I-Call" channels locked out, so I did not catch a talk group. Unsure if it was actually an I-Call TG or a maintenance TG??

Seems that the folks were having problems getting 100 Watts out of a transmitter, they were about 6 dB short it seems. They also mentioned about balancing out some levels by 0.2 dB?? Not sure if the problem is rain related or some other form of infant mortality??

Thought someone might have some more insight to what they were trying to resolve.

Thanks,

JamesO

Believe it or not those towers go down all the time. But as long as only 1 or 2 towers go out generally the others can handle that area. May have been the radio shop doing routine maintenance.

PRO-96 Non trunked mode

The PRO-96 will not do I-Calls, however, I program in all trunked frequencies in conventional mode to montor other activity at times. I just had not gotten around to lock out the not control channels after I reloaded the scanner after the firmware upgrade.

I have not had a chance to play with the scanner much since I picked it up from repair. It appears the squelch behaves a bit different since the upgrade?? Need to spend more time with it to confirm any differences.

Firmware upgrade took just over 2 weeks for the turn-around, not too bad all things considered.

Fairfax is bringing on several new sites including Tysons. I suspect that
is what you heard.

You probably heard the techs talking on talkgroup 503, I've heard them on there a couple times in the past. I also remember them using it fairly frequently when I used to work over at the radio shop.
