I am hearing Bell Fleetnet towers from all over southwestern Ontario right now, all the way up to Toronto, from here in Michigan.

Heard one of the OPP officers say that his radio display was acting flakey on him, and wanted to know what talkgroup he was on. The other officer told him that he was on the "Spare 1OPS16 (8448) and you should be on 1WATER for this detail." Then they showed up on 8944.

I'm here a lot
Nice report Ron. I see you have been diligent in updating the Fleetnet
database. You and Mike Oxlong are going great work.

I wish the bands would open up in your direction as well. I've never heard
Washtenaw County, but I've snagged Wayne County on more than one
occasion.

What would be neat is if we had some irc channels for the different areas
where we could compare notes live on signals, frequencies tgid's etc.
that way you could see what people are currently reporting hearing in areas like Windsor Sarnia London , Hamilton , Detroit etc. & you could ask others "Hey anyone from this area hearing something on this freq?" or identify tg's etc.Or does this allready exist somewhere? (hopefully not on DaLnet or EffNet).

Thank you!

The Washtenaw County TRS, is somewhat hard to copy up in Canada during band openings, for reasons I have no clue to explain. However, if all goes well and the voters approve the proposal on the ballot this November, in two years we will have a very nice multi-site simulcast TRS, but it will be a sub-system of the MPSCS. Likewise, Macomb and St. Clair Counties plan on doing the same thing but it will be a while before they are on the air.

Last night, 800 MHz was wide open and I was hearing public safety tower sites down into Indiana and Ohio loud and clear up here in Michigan. I love it when this type of atmospheric conditions happens! :D

I can remember when EFNet and then DalNet were the only two IRC Networks in existance years ago. Now days, there must be well over 150 networks and this is a conservative estimate. Each network has its own "personality" so to speak. Nonetheless, I think that is a great idea to have a chat channel for this purpose.

RR.com does offer two chat channels on the front page of this Web site, but IRC does have it's advantages, especially on a controlled network. EFNet is a Zoo!!

I was listening to the Local NOAA weather radio.Found these stations coming in at an S-6/S-7 level, this morning. There was some drifting, and fading later in the day. These were all easy to confirm.

162.400 KHB97 Sandusky Ohio
162.425 KXI94 Angola Indianna
162.450 WNG647 Adrian Michigan
162.500 WNG698 Grafton Ohio
162.500 WWG56 Youngstown Ohio
162.525 WXM69 Otwa Ohio

I've copied and 'watched' the Ann Arbor/Washtenaw County TRS from Cleveland, Ohio a few times. I heard Pittsfield Charter Twp FD the other night from here plain as day.

I've had Detroit FD/EMS off & on today.

Yep, still going on.A local Detroit NOAA weather station (KEC63) 162.550 mixed with, and was overtaken by a Cleveland Station(KHB59).I'm hearing a Fleetnet control channel from Chatham too.Gonna keep scanning the bands to see what else I can find.

I've been getting traffic like crazy out of Michigan and Ohio the past few nights. Lots of activity in the VHF band, and low/mid UHF. I was picking up a police department on 424.325 (I think that's what it was... 424 something) last night and it was crystal clear. Lots of Detroit PD action in the UHF range too. I took a quick scan of the 800mhz band and there must have been at least a dozen control channels booming in! I'll have to take another look tonight with trunker running and see if I can ID some of them.

If it was 424.325, that would be Maple Heights PD in SE Cuyahoga County, Ohio. That is my local PD. The units are 44** and the dispatcher is '935'

I'm 99% sure that was the proper frequency. I'll take a listen for them again tonight. Thanks for the info! I also heard the EMS dispatcher on the London 1 channel (155.250) complaining about 'getting walked on by Ohio police again'.
