They were using a mobile scanner in the car that I believe was not available at the time.

Saw it... great show.
Saw that too. (I love F/X Network!) A PRO-2020 was available even as early as 1982 and a PRO-2002 was out in 1981, and I really doubt the episode takes place prior to that. I saw the scanner but didn't freeze frame. And I just erased it before seeing this post.
OK thanks, I wasn't sure.....both are excellent shows....
