I have looked at the help and txt files but have not found answers, hopefully someone here who has been on FastLane longer than the short time I have can provide answers:

I like that the 1R-Record files are put in a new folder for each day. Is there a way to automatically start a new 1R-DSDPlus.event file or folder for each day?

And I would also like to have the 1R-Log.txt file broken down in the same way. Is this possible and how if it can be set up?

Last question for today, in the DSDPlus help file, in -P section what are the T, R, B options used for, and what would be the syntax?

I have not seen a way to do that.

-P<T|R|B><wav|mp3> Also create per-call wav or mp3 files
<T|R|B>: add talkgroup, radio or both aliases to file names
T Talkgroup
R Radio
B Both Aliases

Thanks for asking these questions. I wondered about the T, R and B. What does the -E do?

I have a follow on question. It appears that the 1R bat file is the only way to get a per TG transmission. Is this correct? I've started using 2 dongles so using FMP24 CC and CV after starting DSDPlus CC and CV. is there a way to get per TG recordings? Much more useful than the single recorded file with do data in it. I tried putting -T -Pwav.

If I'm correct in what you're trying to accomplish, I simply selected "Per-Call Recording (either wav or mp3) on the Output menu of the Event Log. It stays that way for subsequent sessions.

I'll try that. But I think I may have answered my own question. I didn't give it enough time to work. I created a .bat called VC-1R. Took the VC.bat and added -T and -E and -Pwav. It created a directory called VC-Record and place the recording there.

DSDPlus Help File said:
Display/Logging options:
>file Create log file
>>file Append to log file
-_<num> Minimize selected windows at startup (bitmapped, 0-15) [-_0]
-- Show command line options in console window title
-t Time stamp console log file entries
-T Time stamp console log file entries and console screen data
-E Add frequency/NAC/RAN/DCC/RAS data to event log file entries
-F<num> Filename modifier; use to avoid filename collisions [F0]
-H<num> High contrast mode (bitmapped, 0-63) [-H0]
-v<num> Frame information verbosity (0-4) [-v3]

I suggest changing Pwav to Pmp3 in all batch files (1R; 1Ra; 1Rb; CC; VC).
MP3 takes up a fraction the size of WAV file sizes, and doesn't lose audio quality or impact decoding in any way.

Be aware of the files sizes for *DSDPlus*.wav, *log.txt and *.event .
They continue to grow, but the first two can become extremely large very quickly (dependent on how busy the system is you're monitoring).
There is no command to auto-separate the files when they get to a certain size, and there is no command to change the *DSDPlus*.wav to mp3.

Good suggestion! I'll try that.

There is no internal command to do that in DSD+, but both of those things can be done with FOSS solutions.

With some slight scripting and the task scheduler, or robocopy, one could get a different folder for each day. I do the latter.
