AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora police are looking for a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday night.
Police said the unidentified man was trying to cross Sixth Avenue near Billings Street when he was struck about 9:30 p.m.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a red Toyota pickup truck and said he left the scene of the accident. They also gave police a license plate number of the vehicle that fled.
Police said the truck had several minor dents around the exterior of the vehicle and a small utility rack across the bed of the truck with a silver ladder attached. It would have sustained moderate front-end damage as a result of the collision.
The victim was rushed to Columbia South Medical Center where he died a short time later.
