About midnight CSUPD officer started chasing a motor cycle in Ft Collins pursuit ended a short time later in a crash, rider transported to PVH and pronounced.

The man who died in a motorcycle accident early this morning was Matthew Bettinghouse, 23.

Bettinghouse died at Poudre Valley Hospital after his black Yahama collided with a parked Chrysler at the intersection of Montgomery and McHugh streets shortly after midnight.

Bettinghouse was traveling eastbound on McHugh and failed to stop for a stop sign, according to a Fort Collins Police Department news release. His motorcycle continued through Montgomery and hit a curb causing Bettinghouse to lose control and hit the unoccupied car.
