Favorite List

Sorry but I am new to the SDS200 but an old scanner. Can anyone please tell me whenever you update the database, does it automatically update the favorites or do you need to do something to update it or do i just need to reload the favorites list. Thanks for helping out an old man.

Database updates through Sentinel do not update your favorites lists.

I think @ProScan is developing a way where it can go through your FLs and search the current DB to see if updates exist

Correct. It's almost done. Just have to do final testing and update the manual. Should be ready in a few weeks.

I dislike Sentenial, have Butel and like it but a feature that can warn me of differences between my current favorites list and the database would push me to ProScan. 😊

Like everything, there are multiple "schools of thought". One is someone has spent a lot of time tweaking their Favorites Lists such as adding, removing and changing channels. Perhaps polishing of text tags, organization of departments, etc. The other is folks want to be sure any newly added "stuff" (frequencies, talkgroups, departments) gets automatically updated.

Uniden "adopted" the first school of thought and doesn't tinker with anything via Sentinel updates. Sounds like ProScan is working on something to accommodate the second school.
