I'm wondering if anyone separates their Aviation and Military Air Favorites List, or do you have them share one. What are the pros and cons of keeping them together or separating them?

I have a list of the local ATC tower, ground, and local railroads. The airport has 2 mainline railroads on either side. So when I go to watch planes, I can use that list. I also have a list of the mobile frequencies for the P25 county wide system with ATC tower and ground. That comes in handy when there is snow removal activity at the airport so I can monitor the snow equipment and ATC since the snow removal is on the county wide. Easier than locking a bunch of lists out. I can't put conventional frequencies in the same list as a P25 system.

Assuming you means civilian vs military, on my Unidens I keep them in the same FL but create separate systems and/or departments. They are in separate banks on my Icom IC-R20

If you assign each a quick key its quite simple and can be in separate lists, or all in one. You could also put all in one list and utilize the service types of Military and Aircraft.
For the record I have a 436. Perhaps I will revisit the quick key. But my way still works in that I can hear the activity at the airport when I'm right next to it regardless of radio systems.

Whatever method you choose, keep the military separate from the civilian. I always consider the possibility of there eventually being a department or agency-specific emergency or major event that requires the exclusive monitoring of a related group of frequencies. Separation makes this easy and fast to monitor those frequencies without interruption. I keep this in mind whenever programming virtually anything from Public Safety to Federal Government to Air to Military.

When I think back to the Pro-92 and Pro-2067, 10 banks of 50. SDS100 changes everything!
