I was listening to OSP hunting for a subject last night here in Auglaize county and the FBI was involved. Does anyone have FBI frequencies for this area. And does anyone know how the FBI communicates with local law enforcement.
Thanks,
John

Oftentimes they use a shared talkgroup on a statewide system (such as OHIO MARCS) or cell phones to communicate, occasionally they will use cache radios from one side or the other. A good source of FBI frequencies is the Fed Files blog by @ChrisP

We heard them on MARCS on or about August 11, 2022, in a botched pursuit.

They lacked tactical proficiency of the radios and their pilot was utterly clueless about air ops (talking over ground units with eyes on) and his airspace.

OSP did a much better job and has pilots that are up daily and well aware of the terrain.

In major metro areas you’ll see their radio ID’s cross systems, so regardless of their ability to use the radios, they’re at least programmed with multiple zones on different systems.

The lack of professionalism was stunningly embarrassing, and probably lends itself to why so many of their regular communications are E.

unless they are on the Local/County / State TRS, you would be best to search 162-174 for your local FBI

Keep in mind, activity will vary and is not like listening to your Local PD/FD/EMS - activity may pop up for weeks of activity and then be dead for months... patience is required.

As for interop, varies.
I've seen, here is one of our radios stays on zyx, other times "Central - aka local Field Office" will call the department invovled.
YMMV, other times there may not even be need for radio chatter with the Feds being invited to the party but not need of tactical RF chatter

Also of interest to see if they operate on a USM TRS in the 162-174 and 400s in your area.

Most USM went to the FBI channels in many of the Regions, not the FBI going to USM
