One of the Chicago Tribune editorial board members sharply critical of Gov. Blagojevich should investigate the history of the State of Illinois CMS (Central Management Services) Panasonic laptop IWIN (Illinois Wireless Information Network) contract since the inception of the IWIN program. A reliable source questioned the initial contract renewal.

I've read thousands of police car laptops have been purchased via this vehicle.

Hmm

Do Dee Do Dee la la la, I see nothing, I hear nothing etc etc.

You mean corruption still exists, wow theres a shocker.

I think they should look into some public fund and private founded colleges while their at it, especially the adminstrative staff.

While they are at it as mentioned above, how about an investigation of:

*The Illinois Department of Human Services? (AKA Public Aid)

*The Mayor's Office & his staff?

*Local Social Service Agencies holding business to do state work as an outsource for certain state departments, while they aid & abet "Ongoing criminal activity".

*Chicago Police District Commanders & entire CAPS Offices for their links to "business as usual" that shorts us citizens in the community of the police protection & appropriate response to 911 calls. I can personally give tons of details that would make investigator's ears fall off.

You and me both, yea cpd has it own internal issue with j-fed which might hinder some investigations or speed them up depending on who like or didn't like him in the field offices.

Now that Gov. Blagojevich knows his landlines have been compromised, maybe he should use an encrypted StarCom21 talkgroup to carry on the State's business. Wasn't this one of the many selling points of StarCom21??? Sensitive discussions be private in nature???

Not full time though. I heard and still hear open activity on 352, and one other FWIW.

Isn't that on the City trunked system, not StarCom21? I don't listen to the City much, are the ISP troopers assigned to the Gov using the City TRS?

Executive Protection Unit on SC21

I don't see any previous reports of TG 352 use on SC21. There is a TG 352 on the CPD TRS that is used for King Richard's Detail. In SC21 Zone 1 (northern IL) the Executive Protection Unit reportedly uses TGs 9083 and 9084 (I do hear encrypted traffic on 9083 on a regular basis). I've got to believe that they might also have access to a simplex 700 or 800 MHz freq in their radio for when they might be out of contact with an SC21 site (i.e. in a building in downtown Chicago, etc.).

Before SC21 came along, they used 154.710 (simplex) for this detail.

Not full time though. I heard and still hear open activity on 352, and one other FWIW.
