FBI traffic has been pretty active the past week or so up here in the NW Ohio area as well. I have a decent amount coming in from the Detroit area as well. Are you getting any P25 digital modulation yet down in that area? Cleveland Division hasn't gone digital yet, but I've been getting a mix of digital from the Detroit area.

ATF is digital here in cow-town. 165.2875. It's about half and half clear/crypto. Oftentimes a conversation will be mixed. Poor training.

DEA uses channel 3, 418.750 (156.7) simplex to talk to their plane. Their old channel 6 repeater, 418.950 (156.7) is apparently still on the air--I heard them on there a month or so ago for the first time in years. I don't know what they use on a more regular basis, but it's probably Nextel. If it were MARCS we wouldn't be allowed to talk about it here anyway...

I've logged some unidentified VHF fed frequencies here in columbus, too. I'll post the frequencies when I get a chance. One is P25 and I hear DES encryption on another one.

I heard them a month ago or so and they were still analog.

When I was in the Phildelphia area last month I caught them using digital with a NAC of 156. Which is interesting as their analog PL tone is 156.7. One unit was completely in the
clear the others were digital, I have no idea why they were operating like that.

That goes along with the Federal plan, to use a NAC which corresponds to the standard PL tone formerly used by that agency. Hence, 156.7 = NAC 156.

There is a list out there somewhere that shows the conversions, but I forget where on the web I saw it. Might have been either here or Batlabs.
