How often does RRDB get updated from the FCC database?
There is a license issued on 9/17/04 that still doesn't show up
here.

Tom there is no automatic update. Lindsay does it every so often. The reason is that during the update, all those indexes which make it easy to look things up have to be rebuilt. So he doesn't do it on a regular basis.

Hope this helps.

Hello All,
I am a new member here but I was wondering the same thing about the updates. Have you guys concidered the possibility of creating a script that will retreve the data from the FCC database search site and display it here in the manner that you already have things listed? I know that it could be accomplished with a Perl CGI script or some other method. This could eliminate the need for manual database updates alltogether. Just a suggestion.

BTW... I love the site... very well laid out. Keep up the good work.

Hello,

I noticed a problem with data from 2003.

If I search on 451.225 for CT I get all except for WPVQ885 when compared to a like search on the FCC site. I tried other frequencies licensed to WPVQ885 and only see them listed at the FCC site. This license was issued in November 2003. I tried a frequency (452.8500) at another nearby site and a search found WPXM848 in both places.

It could be the FCC data files grabbed have a problem or maybe a parsing error somewhere.

I think this is intentional. Many FCC radio services are not imported into the RR Database. WPVQ885 is a YK license and WPXM848 is a YG license. I don't think any YK licenses are available in the RR Database. Other services that are not in RR (that I know of) include AF, RP and YX.
