The House Commerce Committee released a report accusing Federal Communications Commission Kevin Martin of mismanaging an agency described as
“Our investigation confirmed a number of troubling allegations raised by individuals in and outside the FCC,” said Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), chairman of the oversight and investigations subcommittee. “The committee staff report details some of the most egregious abuses of power, suppression of information and manipulation of data under chairman Martin’s leadership. It is my hope that this report will serve as a roadmap for a fair, open and efficient FCC under new leadership in the next administration.”

Why should the FCC be any different than the rest of the government.

Unfortunately, it is so very true. Look at what the morons (on BOTH sides of the isle) are trying to do with 700 Billion Dollars worth of OUR tax money!!!! Give Billions to Wall Street with NO strings attached. Won't give the Union automakers a dime without "strings" attached.

Who is going to investigate the House Commerce Committee?

Who is going to investigate Wall Street? All the loons and crooks are running the asylum !!!!!!

It is so very, very, very sad. I truly believe that the whole country is headed down the drain!

A perfect description of the ENTIRE Bush/Cheney administration.

Why would the FCC operate any differently under Presidential appointee Martin?

A perfect description of the ENTIRE Bush/Cheney administration.

This illustrates exactly the problem with the Congressional report. Note that the quotes come from Democrat members of Congress, and that the report is filled with the same phrases used by Democrats for the past 7+ years in their anti-Bush rhetoric.

The whole purpose of this "investigation" is to discredit another Bush Administration appointee. Why bother? We will have a new president who can appoint new FCC commissioners in a few weeks.

Oh, I forgot about the "change." Can't do the usual partisan housecleaning while pretending to be bipartisan and accommodating without some justification on paper.

This is certainly not "news". One issue I am upset about is the 'approval' of white space use. All we need is a bunch more unlicensed devices out there .. NOT!

Maybe next time you should actually read the report in question instead of dismissing it offhand as partisan posturing. The link in the OP goes to some cruddy he said-she said tripe that passes for journalism these days, but at least provides a link to the actual congressional report so you can read it for yourself. It is a 110 pages though, but so far in reading it, there is little rhetoric.

You think the problems with the FCC were caused by the Bush administration? You think he was the only devil in the White House? I'm more that 8yo and have a fairly good memory.
