FCC is currently querying users on 483.7875 in L.A. It's quite extraordinary and I sure wish I was recording it :) Users answering on that freq are Arcadia PD, Cal Poly, ATF, FBI, Keno PD, Cairmont PD, Glendale PD, CHP and it's still continuing.

I think this is fairly common for a mutual aid frequency - In the Washington DC area they have a weekly checkin with all affiliated law enforcement, federal & military agencies [around 40 at last count]. Are you sure it's the FCC controlling the checkins though? Here I believe it's controlled by some sort of regional emergency preparedness command entity.

It's not the FCC.
The Los Angeles Regional Tactical Communications System (LARTCS) Committee is a consortium of local, state, and federal public safety entities with the common goal of establishing interoperable public safety communications. There is no single ownership of the LARTCS, it is a partnership made possible through the firm commitment and true cooperation of all the public safety agencies participating in the LARTCS.
LARTCS tests simulcast on these frqs.:

Actually it was the FCC...or at least that's how the lady was ID'ing the station. "This is FCC calling (whatever agency)" and agencies either responded or did not.

It often sounds like FCC but they are saying SCC, Sheriff Communications Center. the LARTC system is linked and tested every Tuesday morning at 9am and again on thursday nights at 9pm or 9:30pm. LASO handles the coordination and does the roll call to the other agencies.

Thanks
Shawn

Will they always use 483.7875?

Hello, Yes they use the channels that Mick provided. Including the Mutual aid sheriffs channels. I was really impressed when I heard this as well. I am amazed its taken them this long to put it together.

Thanks
Shawn

Thanks :) I'll be programming those channels into a bank this evening I guess. I didn't listen to the entire roll call this morning, but yeah, it was pretty impressive.

No, they are not all CSQ. The State mutual aid channels have a 156.7 PL. Not sure about the others......
