They are moving to PSAC II facility. All the boroughs have used CW1 in the last months while they transition to the new facility.

The site that Frank provided refers to the PSAC as the Public Safety Awareness Center. That article links to a NY Times page that calls it the Public Safety Answering Center. The Times has it right.

They are updating the infrastructure and everything in every borough will remain the same. While they are moving to PSAC, They are moving over to CW for the time being while they improve on the current infrastructure.

BTW, someone noted on Facebook that the Brooklyn boro frequency was changed to the citywide freq in the RRDB. That should not happen for temporary channel reassignments.

Clearly nothing in the RRDB has been changed in this regard. All one has to do is look at the FDNY listings to see that nothing has been changed on that page in a very long time. In other words, total BS.

Is there any point to your post, other than to point out that "someone" on FB doesn't know how to read?

Everyone is moved over there. The only reason they are using CW now is to improve on their current equipment and infrastructure. No change is being made to the frequencies. The only change was 5 years ago when they went from VHF to UHF. Nothing will ever change again. The communications division is just working to improve the system and provide better MDT and radio coverage.

Infrastructure is being updated to tie every boro dispatch frequency into PSAC II. While they do work on a boro's frequency, that boro temporarily operates on the Citywide 1 frequency until the work is done. No UHF frequencies are changing. Manhattan fire is being dispatched out of PSAC II as of 6/1. Queens is scheduled to go next followed by the Bronx. While PSAC II will have the ability to dispatch all boro's, Brooklyn and Staten Island are to remain in PSAC I based on the last info we heard. Bronx VHF has been down for at least 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything official as to whether it will be repaired/ put back in service after all the upgrade work or not.
