You would use the "dash" talkgroups i.e. 001-2 But really, don't even bother. The EMS trunk system is an administrative system rarely used for anything good. Stick with the conventional EMS frequencies.

NASA,

You are getting yourself confused here. The FDNY*EMS 800 MHz trunked system is in the process of migrating over to all Type II from Type IIi (hybrid). Most all of the talkgroups are simulcast between the Type IIi side and where they will end up when the system becomes all Type II. Therefore, in order not to bother with the hassle of entering in fleet maps, just

- select Motorola 800 MHz Type II from among your system options in whatever bank you wish to program in FDNY*EMS,

- program in all six of the system's frequencies (personal preference - I don't like control channel only trunktracking),

- Next - if you want to listen to talkgroups 1B, E, and G in your example above, program into your scan list the numbers between the ( ) of the talkgroups you wish to monitor. Depending on your hardware, add what ever alpha text tags you wish to ID the talkgroup,

- depending on your hardware model, close the bank in order to not hear any other talkgroups you do not wish to monitor,

- press scan. Only transmissions made over talkgroups you entered into your scan list should start coming over your speaker.
