Posting this on both the NY and the MD forums.

I've just been listening to FDNY's Citywide relaying progress reports from Bronx Comms on a haz-mat incident in Division 7. This wouldn't be unusual, except I'm monitoring the Ocean City, MD trunked EDACS system and I'm hearing this on their talk-group 0977.

Now, I'm a former New Yorker so I'm certain what I'm hearing. (The Bronx dispatcher is 479 and Citywide is 835).

The only explanation I can come up with is that the OC system monitors 154.43 mz, the FDNY Citywide freq., because that freq is used by some local department...and it relays it onto its TG 0977. Anyone have a better explanation?

Considering the weather patterns we've had over the past couple of days, it's very possible that the VHF link is picking up FDNY Citywide and retransmitting it over the EDACS system. I'm surprise the link on the EDACS system doesn't have a PL on it to keep this from happening...E-skip is quite common in this corridor.
