While 4 minutes into a food on the stove job on my block tonight, I heard the BC say "All members hit your HTs 3 times please" then all I heard was a dozen or so "clicks" of the portables. Then the BC thanked all the members.

What is this for?

thanks!

It is part of our accountability system. The IC can do an electronic roll call thru EFAS which is the accountability program installed in Battalion, Division, and a few other units. The "clicks" tell the program a position is accounted for. Any member who doesn't key the mic will be called by the IC over the radio for his/her status.
