federal correctional institution - Pekin

is anyone able to monitor the trunk system: Federal Correctional Institution - Pekin?

if so, I would appreciate any hints / suggestions. I have a BCD996XT scanner & use ARCXTPRO software.
I am using SEARCH mode ( not SCAN ). I am able to hear Tazewell County / Pekin city just fine. I am going to guess the prison is using low power and no way near the signal of TAZCOM. I would expect to at least hear some static but the scanner is quiet. I am located just a few miles north of Peoria.

if you can't receive these frequencies from where you are 408.21250 408.81250 409.01250 409.41250 410.01250, then maybe drive down to powerton lake and park there

those systems are usually low power, 25 watts or less so location close is a must!

Those frequencies are 35 miles south of Chilicothe if that's where you are. Low power as usswood said.

I've tried to listen on a handheld scanner when traveling and only can BARELY pick it up when on 474 by North Pekin/Marquette Heights. Even then it is so faint I have deemed it not worth my trying as it's just too weak there.

When I go to the Peoria Hamfest I can heard the system on a 396XT with an 2m alinco ht antenna.
