the best way to find out is to put in the federal frequencies and listen to them and you will find out what frequencies are active in your area and what frequencies are in the clear.

What you could do also is do a range scan between 162-174 Mhz and 406-420 Mhz which are both federal bands to see what is active in your area.

Some are digital, check the list I posted just a few above this one, the ones in the 167-168 MHz range.

If you could use your scanner to search 167-168 MHz, report back what your hear, then list the freqs. and tones you hear, some of the readers here could probably tell you what you heard.

Any FBI freq. in Los Angeles area.

Thanks
moonboy,

If you are in any way, shape, or form, authorized to program these frequencies into a two way radio, such as a Motorola Astro or XTS, you would not have to be trolling for them on an e-group like this one.

Wayne, can you do your magic with this thread please.

Your master site
I'm going to have to agree here. I don't want this board helping someone program Federal freqs in to a radio they could possibly use to transmit on them with. If you can afford an XTS5000 you can afford a cheap scanner.
