I'm in SC BUT very little analog federal comms heard anywhere in US. Out of 16 we could hear 3 years ago only 2 now. One is DEA drug plane and other is federal aircraft on customs ch. Its been 3 months since I've heard either. Conditions in your area should be about the same---but let us know.

Here in South Alabama, VHF and UHF comms are still plentiful. I was listening to DEA tail a car for awhile yesterday on UHF. We have ALLOT of customs, FBI, and INS traffic. DEA is pretty quiet until they are out tailing someone. I've heard the Marshals and ATF recently too.

DEA UHF

418.9000Mhz used to be very active for surveilance in Birmingham
when I lived there a few years ago.
163.2000Mhz was also active for U.S. Marshalls.
Search 162.6-174.0Mhz and 406.0-420.Mhz. Those bands were
VERY active during the abortion clinic bombing!

DEA In Bham

Have heard the DEA on Ch 3 - 418.900 and Ch 4 418.750 (PL 156.7) in the past. Not much recently. Don't know about Tuscaloosa, but suspect the B'ham freqs are for much of North Central Alabama.
