I got a Great hit this morning while searching. 407.5000 NAC 293. From the sounds of it, it sounded like US Postal. I checked the Dallas Federal Listings and did not see this frequency listed. The signal was Strong and is steady so I doubt it's skip. Any idea's from anyone?

Also seeing Encrypted activity on 164.6125 NAC 385. I have not checked this against the DB for the source yet.

Getting Dallas Federal Law Enforcement traffic on 170.6750 167.9 Also. Partial Encryption, but Seems the Mobile is in the clear. Mobile was on Monfort Rd. following a Taxi Cab. Again, the Dallas Federal listing in the DB are showing blank for this frequency. the 167.9 PL could be Dallas FBI. Freq of nature shows this to be a possible CBP frequency. http://www.freqofnature.com/frequencies/usgov/dhs/uscustoms.html

With the PL of 167.9, you are 98% assured it's the FBI

I have heard the surveillance on that frequency back sometime last year with the same tone. It was reported on the dfwscan Yahoogroup that this indeed was the FBI doing the surveillance.

Here's one that bugging the snot out of me: 410.5500 NAC: 293. Sounds like FCI, but I am not sure where. Segoville FCI is trunked. this is very conventional but there have been calls to units to pull people from 1-A-126 kinda stuff. this has some AES on it. but a lot of it is in the clear. Just noticed, My logs are showing a NAC of 112 on this also.

Another big hitter is 406.3375 NAC: 482 and PL: 131.8 This is always AES on P25 and DES on analog. Lastly I get paging (I think) on 165.7500.

Thanks for the info on that 170Mhz frequency, a lot of that is in the clear but I have noticed its not active all the time. I know the DOJ/FBI have an office in Sherman, TX. I wonder if this is a Collin Co. tower as its Crystal clear here.

.

That 406.3375 MHz frequency is most likely the US Postal Inspectors. That's one of their known frequencies and we're starting to notice the 482 NAC is being used by the Postal Inspectors consistently. And they do stay encrypted most of the time.

Portland, Good city - Lived all over it for a few years. SE122nd./Division SW7th. & Stark (Don't ask) Tualatin, King City, Beaverton. Good place!

So it's safe to assume the 482 NAC will be used Nationwide by US Postal Inspectors? And I can understand them Encrypting full time. Thanks for the response. Will note this one.

OK, I think 410.5500 NAC:293 is the VA hospital here in Bonham. There are only 2 people that use the channel and from listening tonight about "waking people up to Catch the Dallas Bus" and the Fact that the Signal meter is full, I almost certainly believe it's the Bonham VA Police.

12:45pm update: Yes this is Bonham VA Police. The streets mentioned in the routine patrols and someone asking for so-and-so's 10-20, This is defiantly the VA Hospital (er small clinic) in Bonham, TX.

Yes, so far the Postal Inspectors are using N482 on all their P-25 sites. I haven't confirmed the entire US and their could be some exceptions, but all that I have come across and caught the NAC are using N482.

I have seen reports of $293 and $003 in other areas of the Country using Postal or former Postal frequencies. Other than that, most of my New England P25 monitoring of the USPS shows $482

414.7500 in DC as $003
407.7750 in FL as $293

Hope this helps...
