Federal Protective Services in Portland

About one to two weeks ago while moving across I heard some activity over the Federal Protective frequency. The conversation wasn't anything special, it just sounded like a superior talking to a subordinate about some consulate issue. I heard the conversation while traveling south-bound on I-5.


The database shows the FPS as follows:

So I can definitely confirm that they are talking over what appears to be P25 mode.

Yes, I can hear them here in Salem. The repeater must be on Goat Mountain. Between 3-4 AM they have a radio check for all guards at posts. The biggest problem is that 30% of the time they are all digital noise and that is from dispatch or other units complaints not here at my QTH.

They are actually at KGON tower. I've seen their Motorola Quantar.

I am hearing P25 traffic on 408.200 down here in Eugene. Very loud and clear, don't think it's the Portland boys. Sounds like security or police. Heard them going on duty this AM and telling dispatch they will be in "Beat 1" or "Beat 2".

Is this FPS down here also? I'll listen more this evening and see if I can get some locations.

408.200 is also used in Eugene and Salem as well.
