Oct. 2 from my 2nd story hotel window at Federal Way Clarion Inn about 6 PM I was hearing two guys talking on 165.075. Conversation was about scaffolding and dry wall installations plus very salty language. Traffic was simplex (or repeater input) and lasted about 15 minutes. The next morning about 8 am, I heard the same two guys. Couldn't tell their direction of travel but believe they were on I-5. At first I thought I might be getting a harmonic or image from my scanner but switched to my Icom T7 and heard the same thing. Anybody know who this might have been and is that frequency allocated to anyone in the area?

Some of the Canadian transport rigs have been known to use their own freqs down here while in transit.

Which would indicate that they were probably using repeater talkaround for truck-to-truck ops. Just out of curiousity, did you search for it or get a hit on Close Call?

Sounds like a couple of construction workers going to and from their job site. Maybe using a MURS radio. 148-174 MHz: "VHF Business Band", the new unlicensed Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS), and other 2-way land mobile, FM.

I'll go with the truckers. I had to chase a couple down on MARS output the other night. They had no idea it was illegal for them to use their radios in the states. It is really becoming an issue for the US. I've heard horror stories from friends in the south as well.

I was using a PRO-43, searching from 163-173 looking for any federal activity. The scanner was connected to a 1/4 wave mag mount on the window sill. Probably was Canadian trunkers as suggested.
