Hello,

I am currently having some sort of issue with my feed.

I was hosting just one feed for a while, but recently I decided to host more than three additional feeds.
So I got some usb sound cards, you know the cheap ones off of eBay. I plugged them in and they all seemed to work just fine. for a bit.
For some reason that escapes me, the audio does not seem to want to stay attached to the ScannerCast program that its supposed to. Even though the correct sound card is selected in ScannerCast.
So here's what Ive got:
Windows XP
Built in sound card for the main feed.
The USB Sound card. (got three of those running)
Running the latest version of ScannerCast in separate folders for each feed.

I think I missed something in setting up the feeds but I'm not sure what it is.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

You can run several feeds from one PC.
Each feed needs a separate feed application.
Each feed needs a separate USB or internal sound card.
You can run several instances of ScannerCast.
Just give each copy of ScannerCast a different name, place each in different folders & point each instance of ScannerCast to a sound card for each feed.

$1 eBay USB SoundCards

I ran into a problem with these cards if you set up a system then later try to add more sound cards.

What I did to resolve the problem was totally uninstall ALL drivers for these cards (of course the cards are removed too). With the hub NOT plugged into the PC, plug all of the SoundCards into a hub. I found a hub at Fry's that could hold 5 cards. If you need more than 5 you'll need more hubs.

Then plug the hub into the PC. Let the cards all get assigned their logical channels. I used several applications like a digital meter to determine which card was assigned to what channel. Then I did a total reboot of the system to verify that the cards were re-assigned the same logical channels.

Without going through all of the above steps, I was having trouble with cards not being re-assigned the same channel after each boot. In ScannerCast, when the proper channel is not found, it resets to the system default sound channel (or the first one if that's not found). So it's important to get the sound card channel assignment working first.
