Hi All,

just a quick question regarding the feed....

Here in Canada, there's a law regarding broadcasting scanner over the internet. I see some people are still putting some feed online.

Let say I put a feed online has anonymous, will RR provide my info to anyone if requested?

thx,

I recently rejected a request for a private feed.

RR.com is not doing private feeds as far as I have been told.

Best suggestion is to setup a seperate SHOUTcast server (easier to setup than Icecast) and host the feed yourself.

Or have a hosting company host the feed instead of RR.com.

EGI Hosting is one poss: http://www.egihosting.com/

Cost is something like 18 cents per listener slot. So max of 10 listeners it would cost them $1.80 per month, have up to 50 concurrent users it would cost approx $9 per month.

According to the privacy act, it is illegal to provide an online audio feed for a Canadian agency unless you get permission first. Depending on the agency, they may be more than willing to give you the thumbs up unless it is law enforcement.

I believe he is talking about broadcasting a Public Safety feed but remaining anonymous(User name etc...)
