The website says its a 10 channel MOTOTRBO radio system. It would be neat to copy it directly using DSD. It should have pretty good coverage at that altitude!

I wonder if they are using encryption.

Anyone know what frequencies they are using?

Not that no one has this but here is the live broadcast website for those who might not
Live Broadcast | Red Bull Stratos
It really would have been nice to do a direct monitor as I believe the site is on a 20 sec. delay.

I see a delay of right at 1 minute between the live Discovery Channel broadcast and the live website feed. Of couse the Discovery channel delay may be less for those on cable. I'm watching on a Dishnet sat feed.
The web feed is the most delayed but it also has no commercials and much better tech details over the discovery channel feed.

Yep, a direct monitor would be cool.

I wonder what kind of antenna is attached to his suit for the free fall back to earth. I guess he will be able to talk while coming back down. I wonder how well the TRBO signal will handle it.
