It's been silent for almost 2 weeks now. They switched to the OpenSky system.

What are some of the car or unit #'s for Hazel pk and Ferndale I have a old reference book that has Ferndale its a bit out dated but are these good 62-68 patrol. 66 sergent .612-616/620 detectives .619 dog catcher.623 parking. 620 patrol van.611 meter srv

Hazel Park units were usually 21-28 (always started with a 2).

They are on Opensky. The Aux officers are still on VHF for now.

I provided the feed for HP/Ferndale and it switched over a few weeks ago. I am still not used to the silence.

There is an email from HP Chief Niedermeier in the OpenSky thread that says digital scanners can pick the new OpenSky system up, unfortunately he is not well informed.

There is a volunteer group that patrols HP (MCSU) that monitored scanners, not sure what they are doing now.

The car #'s are correctly listed with some HP cars being in the 2xx (233 traffic car, 22x detectives, UC)

There was a good amount of activity on this frequency early this morning. It was concerning a shooting at a VFW hall. I think I caught the location as 9 mile and Woodward. I'm not sure if this was a simulcast because I couldn't understand an entire transmission when one of the on scene cops was talking fast. The audio sounded different so I am guessing it was some kind of a O/S -VHF simulcast?

They didn't seem to be using it as a dispatch channel, but there was a lot of activity. I'm going to try to monitor this freq more in the future and see what comes up on it.

I keep all old freqs in my scanner for that reason even in Macomb from time to time they seem to pop up someone is useing them .

Last week MSP had some interesting comms going on the old intercity freq. 155.370. I believe it was with Oak park. Also heard MSP involved in a car chase and Oakland Co. Air 1 all on the old statewide 155.865 last summer. So I hear you about old freq's.

I've heard a couple HP transmissions tonight. It seems to be a OpenSky patch that's occasionally active.

Yep, seems to be occasionally active. I left it on all day and it was pretty dead. But every night so far there has been some activity. I mostly listen just before bed (2400-0100).

Hearing Royal Oak FD on a new freq.

Im hearing Royal Oak Fire Dept. on 158.865. Repeater !!! This is something new? This is the first time Ive heard them on this. Anyone have any info on this?

I'm also hearing Royal Oak fire on 158.8650 DCS 32.

Checking the FCC database it does appear to be a valid frequency licensed to Royal Oak.
It sounds like a mixture of units on Opensky patch and analog units.

Last nite around 8 or 9 pm a short com on 154.7400 on the scanner .
Not long enough to tell what Dept it was .
