Depends on where exactly in the state you will be. Some areas are still using the Motorola APCO-25 digital system, which can be monitored on a digital scanner. Some areas are using the new M/A-COM digital system, which cannot be monitored by any scanner.

I can monitor the FHP in Lake City and Jacksonville with my PRO-97...

I am not able to pick up any FHP Jax Troop G at all nothing comes in. I can hear the vhf repeater from Bunnell tower. They come in crappy. I have the pro 96. I have all the 800 mhz channels in it and nothing comes in unless it is like between 7am-9am some I can hear far down south. What are Jax and Lakeland talk on 800? or vhf. I hear Flagler may go to 800 soon and putnam may head that way if so it only can be heard in the county only.

Jacksonville and Tampa are on the M/A com system which is encrypted and uses ESK on it.No scanner can monitor them.Here is a link to the troops http://www.fhp.state.fl.us/AllTroops/

No E,L,and D on the older Motorola System Apco-25 CAI System are the only ones you can monitor.They Will be switching to the M/A Comm system after they fix some programming errors.

No it is APCO-25 CAI .I think when they started installing it it was VSELP,but they converted it early on.

Was never vselp, i'm pretty sure it was off the market before they started building the sytem.

When Govenor Lawton Chiles was in Office in 1994 {I beleive,it was so lonnng ago,} he signed off on the Motorola System to be built. Back then it was indeed VSELP. The State of Florida did flashport upgrades at over $900 per radio to convert to IMBE and did not fully convert till 1999.

So what you're saying is that we the taxpayers spent $$$ for VSELP, then spent more $$$ for IMBE, and now even more $$$ for ProVoice? When does it end??
