Hi Paul,

I noticed under Audio, there are 2 folders.
My question is about the inner_rec folder.

I noticed that there are files in this folder, even when I am not actually recording.
I was hoping I could get a bit of detail from you as to when, why, etc these files are written.
Some sort of buffer...?

Example: I turned the radio on at approx. 9:00 or so.
It's 10:30 now.

I see files from 10:13 - 10:15.So, it hasn't been writing files from power up.
And, hasn't written files up until I checked it.

Thanks

The scanner has 2 types of recording..... replay and record. The replay function is always saving files to the inner_rec folder on the SD card. The time period for saving the replay files is a user set option... from 30 seconds to 240 seconds.

See page 5 and 6 of the user manual:

The radio has two record/replay features.

The 'replay' feature records a very small amount of activity for instant replay. These recordings are overwritten/aged off within minutes. I believe there are some user options including to completely turn off replay.

The other is the 'record and keep' recording that must be enabled manually.

Thanks.

I have seen the setting and set it for 240.
I had it in my mind that this was a delimiter for individual record file size.

I now realize I have a cool, very useful feature.
RTFM, huh.
(The embarassing part of this is that I have had a 436 for quite a while, never realizing).

Dooooh!!
