Sure, in my County the radio system is divided into South, East, Central and North for fire. Police are now encrypted but they all had their own color scheme before they went to Black and Whites.

Falls Township police cars had a yellow stripe, Middletown Township cars had a green stripe, Bristol Township had a blue stripe. Each Township had a different fire district.

Using solid light, slowly blinking light differentiating from Ops channels which was a fast blinking light I'll leave it up to you to guess what colors I assigned to what townships LOL.

I just pick colors that are associated, or I've associated, with the various services:

Blue = Cops
Red = Fire
Cyan = EMS
Green* = Public Works
Yellow = Schools
And then:
White = Security
Magenta = Army/Feds

Solid Color = dispatch channels
Fast Blinking = tactical channels/ops

*Probably more relevant to associate "green" with military but the Public Works channels are more active and I prefer the color green to magenta.

Apropos of nothing, bought another BCD436HP since they were on sale at HRO over Christmas and the "yellow" LED alert is more orangey than yellow (pure yellow on my old unit) and the "white" alert LED has a distinctive "magenta" tinge to it, while my old BCD436HP's "white" alert LED is pure white.

I leave the screen on my sds200 off (black) most of the time. I have been listening so long that I know what agency is talking. Only thing I really use alerts for is when I am trying to figure out certain radio id's.

I wasn't sure if you were asking for an .hpe export showing an example, or what others have given you by describing their setup. So here is an export of the PA Medevacs, with tone & alert color set on for the channels closest to me.

I like the alert tones. Most of the time I'm on my laptop, and the tone gets my attention to stuff I really want to hear. My oldest works for the FD here, so that's one of them.
