might be too far away or too much in between.
It's not that far away, I pick up the800Mhz freq with the same power level and siting from my residence using a Rohn 25 foot tower and discone.
I just can't hear a control chanel so that I can log it down .

Appears to be this site specifically

CC's are Red and Blue (if accurate)
I'd imagine you'll hear corrections facilities personnel primarily if following the frequencies conventionally .

OK, I still can not copy the control channel,
I retried with my Icom 8500 receiver,
I'll just have to take the group word and let it go,
Thank you for you help.

One of the other member pointed out the fact that its a "dention facility" and could be restricting there broadcast.
I'll log it in and let it go at that.
Thanks to all

That Site I posted may be verified, That's not to say that everything about that license is verified, You may have nuggets to find on some of those sites and frequencies on the license, The Jail may only be one of the locations listed and using only enough power to cover a specific area, It may have many purposes and users (just not found yet).

At my residence (down the street from RC Wiley, Syracuse) I can pick up a few more sites than expected.
I can barely hear "Point of the Mountain",
But I can hear Utah Co. lake with full quieting,
I can not hear brigham city, But I can Hear Treamonton VHF UHP nicely (S-6),
So Just like the 800 Trunking system, it a hit and miss condition and some of the salt lake freqs are easy some are harder to hear,
it's better if there is an overcast art times.
Fun Times.

I just wounder how they at UCA establishes the range of transmission.
They say this has a five mile range, where other have a much broader angle,
Something to think about.

The site ranges in the RR DB are set by the Admins judgement and generally are only large enough to cover the intended jurisdiction that is targeted, like a county or city or even a specific facility (ie a Jail). The signals can travel much further than the suggested RR DB range setting. They need to keep the range tight to the intended target, this is important for those who utilize GPS (and Zip Codes) location for scanning.

You'll also want to take note of the authorized power for each location & frequencies on a license to determine what range they intend to cover.. Maybe the jail location has a lower power, I did not dig that deep..

I also keep these resources close at hand.

Historically (hysterically) I have found the Jail site to be a hit or miss. If you are close or in a good location (Legacy Parkway & 500 South, Woods Cross), you can "hear" the site.
As for range, that varies a lot. Take a best guess, and see.

I have been able to hear them once or twice,
But now that I know who and where they are at,
I will most like just lock them out and monitor callsign KNJU695 AND WQIF657
at least I can copy them at my residence with a s-6 strength
