I live in the northeast end of findlay, I can look out my kitchen window and see the osp tower. Thanks for the code list.. But they have a newer list. some are still the same but the new ones I have noticed are the following: signal 111 is transfer/recieve message via mobile data terminal (MDT). and dispatch will ask a unit if he/she is 85.. wich I am assuming would be ok. also when they are on a signal 6 check (alarm off) they will say building secure everything is 85. signal 104 has something to do with report work/bonds. We just may be neighbors but then again there are many people that can look out there window and see the OSP tower from many parts of town. I'll ask a Findlay PD Sargent or a Findlay Firefighter that I know for a updated list the next time I run into them. As a matter of fact I need to speak to the Sarg anyway. I'll give him a call or stop by the PD if I have time Tuesday.

well I live off crystal avenue by all them newer apartment developments. it's pretty close. Thanks for checking with the public safety agents on the updated code lists. I know one of the sargents for the PD too. Not all that well but I did assist him with an auto lockout downtown. Can't remember what his unit number is though. And I know a couple of the patrollmen. See if mabey you could get some of the fire department codes too if you can. so far I have noticed that they stick with the same coding system as the PD. However I have heard a few different codes at times. That also makes me wonder if they have individual unit numbers or if they just stick with engine 1 interior crew/exterior crew, ladder 1 crew...ect...ect. thanks for any help.

I have never had a problem with getting HCS or Findlay from Bluffton. Heck I can hear both of them from Lima. Oh and Scannerhead you are right down the road from meThornyO5 said:

Yep, sure do. Good old highland estates.......... I remember when all them apartments out there was nothing more than a field. it was much nicer. However with all them new developments... I hear more calls closer to home. Sometimes it gets rather interesting. As far as listening to findlays system... I've picked up radio traffic halfway outa BG... then again I was only using the standard ant that came with my pro-95. I can pick up toledo's system on a good night with my trunk mount... But only on certain nights. Listening to toledo's system and then listening to findlays is like listening to two different worlds. Hopefully you can pull through with getting them updated codes. I know most of them but not all of them. And it would be nice to be able to know what exactly they are talking about. Wish I had my scanner on when that riot broke out at bulleys... I was there but did not have my scanner. I just stood as close to the PD as I could so I could hear what they were talking to eachother about.

Well, F.F.D seems to do a wonderful job at what they do... I have been on scene to a lot of fires in findlay.... and they can get r done. about the only time I have ever seen the PD work hard was when that riot broke out at wolley bulleys during gus macker last year. But listening to theyre radio traffic.... most of them seem to be rather smart at what they do, However I do stress the word MOST. And speaking of findlay fire department... Anyone living in town seem to wonder about all them fires on taylor street that seem to be happening so often? There was a string of them that went though the george street area. One of the people that had there vehicle caught on fire was a friend of mine. I think mabey we have some amature arsonists arround town that need to be disposed of. One house on taylor street has been caught on fire NUMEROUS times. As well as the garage adjasent to it. As far as the PD though... All I ever hear in this town is 51/51a's... Domestic Disputes... And they generaly happen in the same areas... EVERY NIGHT... Monroe avenue trailer park.. and Longmeadow lane... as well as Kirkwood court... Do people in findlay have nothing else better to do then beat the crap out of eachother? Or should I say people in them areas. I did hear some interesting traffic through the PD last night.. someone robbed a pizza guy at gunpoint on stanly avenue sometime late last night/early this morning. I know there was a tun of cops all arround the area setting up a perimater. Don't think they caught the guys though.

LACP (Lima-Allen County Paramedics) are on Ohio MARCS. I heard Medic 7 broke down on I-75 last night while transporting someone to OSU in Columbus. Medic 8 took over the transport. Medic 9 was transporting someone to the Cleveland Clinic at the time.

At least at the present time, they are using MARCS for their out of town transports. The majority of their in town operations is on their VHF channel, but they do some of it on MARCS.

I posted an updated list of the current codes and signals used by the findlay police department through hancock countys RR database. So if anyone would like to check them out they are available, RR's webmaster posted them on there today.

Hey Dwayne, Did you get a chance to speak with whomever you were going to about the radio codes? If you look on hancock countys page via the RR database, They posted the updated codes that I got. You may want to double check and see if they are all valed and accurate, through listening closely all of them seem to go in order, Not sure if they have had any updates since my copy. Thanks

My statement does make sense, I am saying that should not have THIER* own trunking system, but a trunking system is for multiple users to share the same set of frequencies, Findlay would do just fine without it. Like I said though, I don't care that they do, I just don't think they need it.

Instead of having 3 or 4 frequencies for police, and 2 or 3 frequencies for fire, and 3 or 4 frequencies for all other city departments, and 2 or 3 frequencies for the airport, they combined the various departments into one five channel trunked system. This saved frequencies.
800 systems are the only frequencies that require the licensee to certify the number of users on the system. There is a minimum number required per frequency. If they started off with a small number of users, they had a "slow growth" provision on their license that required yearly reporting until build out with the required minimum.
