I recently obtained a Uniden Bearcat BCD436HP and was looking into setting up the fire tone out feature. I live in Miller county in SW Arkansas and just like all other counties, our VFD is using the AWIN trunked system. Anyways, question is whether or not they are broadcasting the two tone over 800MHz and VHF or just 800? If it is just on the 800, is this impossible to set up on a scanner seeing how it's not a conventional channel? Any help would be much appreciated.

I may be wrong and someone can correct me if I am but my experience has been that the paging occurs on standard analog FM and then they respond on the other digital system (be it AWIN or a department/county's own DMR/NXDN system).

I've always been told that there are no fire pagers being sold for use on 800 mHz systems. Thus, if they're using the two-tone paging system, it's going to be VHF-only.
