Fire Tone Out Southwestern Ontario

I checked WIKI and noticed that there is no data for anything
in Bruce, Grey, Huron, Wellington or Perth
Does anyone on here have any information for any of those areas?
Can quite rap my head around the software etc for capturing it myself

I use the new 346xt scanner to decode the tones. What radio are you using?

Only your xt model can do this but in tone-out set up, enter your areas dispatch frequency (it's in the datbase). Enter 00.0 for the tones A & B. As they get toned out, be ready with a pen & paper to jot down the codes that will display when you are in tone-out standby mode

ANyone have any tone outs for Essex, Chatham-Kent, Lambton, Elgin, Middlesex, Huron and Oxford counties?
And would the fire tone out work for EMS pages?

Should work for EMS I believe. I tried getting some Middlesex ones a year or so and couldn't reliably get the tones on my PC. I think I may have to give it another shot.

Has anyone successfully programmed an EMS base on tone-out? I thought I had but then a couple other bases got toned out on the same codes.

I left my radio on the ems pager and had it recording for 12 hours. I got all the station pages for middlesex area n such, just have to decode them now.

How do i do it with audition? I tried to walk thru thing on the wiki but dont understand it.

You folks have gotten quite a list together - I'd organize it by county, and we have a list of Ontario counties here..

Now as to presenting the data - to practice the KIS (Keep it simple) principle, I'd make it a straight list by preceding each station with an asterisk in the leftmost column of the line - much like was done here for all the station lists in this article...

Remember to add 2 things to each county that you add data;

a. A category statement at the very end of the article;

[[Category:FTOs]]

b. A search statement - this allows the search tool in the wiki to pull each and every article in Ontario (in this case) that has FTO information in it. Lots faster than having to wade through almost 300 articles;

Search:OntarioFTO

This line can be anywhere in the article - best to put it at the end, before the category statements

I have made a new article in the wiki for Fire Tone Out's, I have put it in the Ontario collaboration page under: Fire Tone Out's for the region's of Ontario.
I was going to enter each FTO for each region but it would take a while. This way its all on a single page, it makes it easy to find in a single spot.

Hi Terry,

Once again you have done a commendable job with this project.

I have a question for you.

Now that people have a better idea of the tones used for various services they can put these tones into their scanner and listen to them. HOWEVER, what frequency do they listen on?

Would it be an idea to also post the frequencies that each tone is heard on so users can tune to the correct frequency after the tones are installed?

Could that be inserted into your excellent database?
