Something weird just started happening on my BCD-996p2. The local FD sends their 2-tone pager tones twice in succession when initiating a call. When I have the radio set in toneout standby I hear the second set of tones come through just fine, but if they drop carrier, even for a second before beginning the voice call there, is no received audio, despite seeing "full bars" on the signal strength meter. If the carrier stays up between the tones and the dispatch I can usually hear it fine, and if I hit the "scan" button it will lock on to the dispatch immediately without a problem.
My understanding is that in toneout standby mode any CTCSS/DCS settings are ignored so it's not a tone squelch issue. And besides, the CTCSS is set correctly, since in normal scanning mode it locks onto the and decodes with the correct PL in place. Any idea what could be going on here?
