Baltimore Region Prepares For Bioterror Drill


BALTIMORE -- Baltimore, surrounding counties and area hospitals are preparing for a huge bioterror drill next week that will show if the region is prepared to handle such an attack.

Few details were released when officials announced the plan at a news conference on Thursday. They said the date and nature of the drill must be kept discreet to make the exercise as authentic as possible.

During the drill, officials will open and staff public health clinics to treat the mock patients and more than 400 volunteers will pose as victims.

The drill also will test officials' access to the Strategic National Stockpile, a repository of antibiotics, chemical antidotes and other medical supplies.

This Drill will start on Monday Morning and will last thru Weds. Morning all of the participants are supposed to were a Slime Green Shirt, which we all know that will change somehow. I have no other Information Sorry

A huge bioterror drill is planned for Baltimore and surrounding areas next week to see if the region is prepared to handle an attack. So far, few details about the drill itself have been announced.

The exact date and nature of the drill are being kept under wraps to make the drill as realistic as possible. During the drill, emergency officials will operate public health clinics to treat mock patients. More than 400 volunteers will serve as mock victims.

The drill also will test officials' ability to access to the Strategic National Stockpile, which is a repository of antibiotics, chemical antidotes and other medical supplies that could be needed in the event of a terror attack.

I got a note from 'nightwatch' that the drill had been cancelled (postponed?) due to the death of President Reagan.
